Colombia Visa Information

The cedula for foreigners is the second step of getting the visa and your temporary residency. This process is fairly simple, and its required that you get this within 15 days of having your visa approved in the country or within 15 days of arriving if your visa was issued outside the country.

The cedula will cost you 153,000 pesos if you do it this year, all prices are adjusted on a yearly basis for inflation.

TP 7:
TP 7: foreigner wishing to enter the country in pursuit of one of the following activities or occupations: As pensioner or annuitant, a partner or owner of society for medical treatment abroad and companion who will receive the medical treatment, property owner, for the exercise of trades or independent activities.
Requirements:
- Copy of valid passport page where personal data are recorded holder.
- Copy of passport page was last seal stamped into or out of Colombia, as appropriate.
- For previous visas granted without OCR or quick reading code, attach a copy of the page that contains the last Colombian visa. In the event that any had been issued with the OCR this requirement is unnecessary.
- If the process is to be completed by a proxy duly executed power attached.
- Attach the documents described in the first four points and certificate issued by competent authority, government, public or private, or foreign entity or Colombian, or diplomatic or consular mission in the country where the alien obtained the pension accredited Colombia, stating that overseas visa applicant receives monthly pension not less than three (3) legal monthly minimum wage, or
- Attach the documents described in the first four points and where specified certificate issued by the public entity income, banks, finance companies, social security institutions, insurance companies or any other private company, recognized by the respective government, to pay or turn income, or the original contract for verifying the amount of the rent. In the two cases of this paragraph, the amount shall not be less than the equivalent of fifteen (15) legal monthly minimum wage, or
- Attach the documents described in the first four points and certificate of existence and legal representation issued by a Colombian Chamber of Commerce, within three (3) months prior to the visa application, stating that the alien is a partner or owner of a company duly incorporated and registered, indicating active capital or property registered and paid foreign visa applicant not less than one hundred (100) legal monthly minimum wage (attach pages containing the following information: legal identity, purpose, legal representatives, equity or shareholding, legal representative functions), if it is a commercial company by shares, must attach shareholding certificate signed by the auditor, specifying the value of foreign-owned shares applicant, which shall not be less than one hundred (100) legal monthly minimum wage, or
- Certification issued by legally authorized medical institution indicating the completion of treatment, or
- Communication issued by the Foreign Exchange Department of the Central Bank stating the registration of foreign direct investment to buy overseas property in the name of the visa applicant, in an amount exceeding three hundred fifty (350) minimum monthly legal tradition and freedom certificate issued by the respective Office of Public Records, issued with a notice not exceeding one (1) month in which it appears that the applicant is the owner of a property in the country for a value corresponds to the recorded investment which should not be less than the amount referred to in this paragraph or
- Application letter signed by the applicant indicating the activity to be developed in Colombia, accompanied by the resume in indicating their experience in the business to develop in the country and with at least two (2) certifications of experience accompanied by bank certificate which indicates the average bank in the last six months than fifteen (15) legal monthly minimum wage.
- In the event that the applicant is the beneficiary of an entrepreneurship program or activity supported by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism must submit a certificate issued by the Ministry, stating that foreign visa applicant is the beneficiary of a public or private program, to support entrepreneurship recognized by the entity.
- Filling out a visa application by mail through the following link: Form Visas or in person at the issuing office. For arts groups, sports and cultural visa application may be processed by your representative, specifying the data of each of the members of the group.
Remember:
- If your process is going to perform in person, you must present your passport valid for at least 180 days and two blank pages.
- Yes electronic visa requested for more than a month, you must submit your passport offices in Bogota for a period greater than 180 days and two blank pages for the respective visa stamping.

Recommendations
- The authority responsible for issuing visas shall be empowered to conduct interviews and request further documentation, in cases where it deems appropriate, personally or by a suitable communication medium.
- Visa holders whose term exceeds three (3) months, and the beneficiaries thereof, shall be entered in the register of foreigners Special Administrative Unit Migration Colombia, within fifteen (15) calendar days from entering the country or the date of issue of the visa, if this was issued in national territory or within fifteen (15) days of admission to Colombia, if the visa was issued at a consulate.
- All documents required for the granting of any visas, in Colombia or abroad, must be authenticated or certified as appropriate and translated by an official translator Castilian, if they are in different language.
- Documents issued in Colombia that support or are part of the requirements for a requested visa abroad at a consulate of Colombia, not required to be Apostilled or Legalized.
- In case of any error in the data of the visa granted, provided that they are of typos, spelling or does not affect the essential data the holder thereof will have a maximum period of 30 calendar days to request its correction. After this term, the applicant shall process a visa transfer.
Remember that if your application is declared inadmissible must resubmit and make a new payment for studies (analysis of documents).
