Leanna Palermo DC

I was born in what some refer to as “the Summer of Love,” 1969, in a small New England town that had a sign somewhere that read, “Plastics Capital of the World.”

Still, it was a good day…

Since then, I have learned that I am a survivor. I have lived through child abuse, drug abuse, cutting, “Suicide High,” and Chiropractic College, multiple health challenges and countless food fads, the loss of loved ones and the journey through grief.

Currently, I am surviving and thriving, in South America with my wonderful husband, our five dogs and cat. Although frustrated on many occasions when my polyglot of a heart doesn’t seem to connect to my uni-lingual brain…I am proud of my path and happy to keep the past where it is while cherishing its lessons.

I am drawn to all things that allow me to live the depth of my life and not simply the length of it. From whole foods to body work, meditation, yoga, “simple” mindfulness to energy healing, from gardening to oneironautics, bare footing to sun gazing, I am here to experience and celebrate life!

I have been writing poetry since the grade school and journaling for almost that long.

After 16 years, I gathered pieces of a growing story together, finished writing the hardest parts and completed an online challenge daring us to write 50,000 words in 30 days– I hit the mark in about half the allotted time. Apparently the story was ready to be birthed.

Finally, “Swallowed” is now available for your reading pleasure…
