-One difference from Quito is that Eritrea and Ethiopia claim sunshine 365 days of the year. There is a definite rainy season, but there is often not enough rain leadind to draughts. Ecuador seems to have daily showers at least this time of year - and the clouds forests drip rivers of water down every slope.
